• Accessories and Options

Mobile Computers can be simple data collectors (with inbuilt barcode scanners and someties also with keypads for data entry) through to sophisticated and ruggedised PDA-type devices that may have a barcode scanner, linear imager or digital camera built in to them as well as an actual or a virtual keypad for data entry. PDA-type devices are used in situations where the user needs the application or a sub-set of the application to be loaded in the actual device. These applications may run under Windows CE or Windows Mobile.

Batch Mobile Computers (Data Collectors)

These devices capture data using an on-board program that may run in a proprietary, Palm, Linux, Windows CE, Pocket PC or Windows Mobile operating environment. The captured data is then downloaded using a communications cradle that may also serve to charge the unit's battery.

Wireless Mobile Computers

These devices communicate in real time to other computing devices using a radio link. We have organised this area of our shop in sections determined by how the mobile computer will communicate with its environment - Bluetooth, WiFi (802.11), GPRS/GSM (or a combination of those methods) or Narrow Band. Within each section, the products are grouped into sub-groups according to the operating system in which the on-board program may run - proprietary, Palm, Linux, Windows CE, Pocket PC or Windows Mobile operating environment. The applications that run in a proprietary operating system are often developed in an MS Windows environment.

Mobile Computer Accessories and Options

Accessories and options for individual products are displayed as options for that product when the product is selected. In this section, we list all the accessories and options for all mobile computers.
